The Yorkshire & Humber Governance Services Group (YHGSG) represents Governance Professionals from the Local Authorities, Diocesan Education Boards, Academy Trusts and Independent members of the Yorkshire and Humberside region. In agreement from existing members, we will also consider new members from outside our geographical area who present a convincing business case for inclusion, such as larger Trusts or Diocese where the central base is outside the region but they support educational settings within our boundaries.
Members of the Group are committed to the provision of diverse, robust and effective services to governors of all types of educational establishments advocating the importance of effective governance to enable the best outcomes for children and young people across the region. As a group, we recognise the changing face of education and all members are committed to developing working partnerships and collaborations across all sectors, including delivering a regional Governance Conference for the Yorkshire & Humber region.
We usually hold a termly ‘business’ meeting and a termly CPD session. All meetings are offered on a hybrid basis with some meeting in person and others joining remotely based on service capacity.
