London Region

The London Coordinators of Governance Services (LCOGS) extends across all 32 London Boroughs together with and a number of independent members and organisation, and diocesan partners.  We share a determination to provide the best possible service to the governing bodies and trust boards that we serve. The diversity of our membership gives us a wealth of experience and expertise enabling us to offer support, advice and guidance to all boards in all settings across our region.

We operate a Steering Group, who are responsible for planning our meetings and overseeing the business of LCOGS. We meet face-to-face once a year and virtually for all other meetings. Our meetings provide high-quality, relevant and thought-provoking professional development for our members.

As with other regional groups, NCOGS works to:

  •  influence national policy associated with governance issues through membership of the National Association of Governance Advisory Services (NAGAS);
  • identify common themes and issues emerging from the group and use these to inform local and national priorities;
  • provide representatives from the group to attend NAGAS meetings to share views on emerging local and national issues and to ensure the outcomes of those meetings are communicated with LCOGS members in a timely and appropriate manner;
  • support the continuous improvement of the London governance support;
  • encourage and support the professional development of all individual members;
  • disseminate good practice in all areas of governance support;
  • share resources, information and best practice.
