ERCOGS members, are committed to the provision of diverse, robust and effective services for governors of educational establishments that support them in fulfilling their role in securing the best outcomes for children and young people across the region.
Our membership welcomes all those involved in school governance: Local Authority governors’ support services membership, the Diocesan Education Boards, organisations which have been commissioned by local authorities to deliver Local Authority (LA) statutory functions for school governance, independent providers of support and training for governors, whose contractual agreements with larger organisations do not lead to conflicts of interest, leaders of Governance for Multi Academy Trusts (MATs).
All members operate in the geographical area of ERCOGS, or from outside the area with the agreement of the existing members. Members have agreed protocols for the marketing and delivery of services within the region to prevent any conflict of interest with other members.
ERCOGS meet online each term and hold an annual in person Away Day event. We offer a supportive network, share knowledge, information and CPD sessions. More recently we have developed resources that can be shared within our membership such as online complaints training. Using the GovernorHub platform we can contact members easily to ask for advice and thoughts on all aspects of school governance.
We are financed through an annual subscription.
