Our mission

NAGAS exists to give a national voice and support to its members, with a view to promoting high-quality school and Trust governance. The organisation seeks to influence and initiate national policy by identifying common themes emerging from the regions. You can find out more about NAGAS’ work and that of the membership regions on the About Us page.

Meet our committee

The committee provides a mechanism for professionals working in services supporting governance in schools and settings to access a range of materials and development opportunities, as well as influencing and initiating national policy.

Clerking Handbook

The Clerking Handbook is a practical guide for governing board clerks and governance professionals in maintained and academy schools. The guide is produced by the National Association for Governance Advisory Services and is recommend by the Department for Education.

Resources

Our objectives include sharing research, information, ideas and good practice. And to encourage and support the professional development of individual co-ordinators of governor services and other governance professionals.
